IN DEFENSE OF BUSH - episode 7

In which Ned Needleman defends the Bush-Cheney White House against the accusation that this country is now in the hands of a dangerous fundamentalist evangelical warmonger who hears voices and thinks it's God talking to him.

IDB: Welcome to another episode of In Defense of Bush.  I'm Ned Needleman ready and eager to defend!

Here we have Rachel again from the Environmental Research Foundation   .

Okay Rachel. What is your attack on our leader?

Rachel: I think this country is now in the hands of a dangerous fundamentalist evangelical warmonger who hears voices and thinks it's God talking to him.

If you read Rachel's Environment and Health News #795, the fourth in a series called Fiery Hell on Earth, after giving examples of fundamentalist calls for holy war, I say that for people holding such views, the present U.S. invasion of Iraq may hold special meaning because it can be seen as an essential step toward the second coming of Christ. Indeed, President Bush describes his own role in the Iraq war in deeply religious terms. When the President visited the Middle East a year ago, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz, which is owned by the New York Times, reported that the President said, "God told me to strike at al Qaeda and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did."

IDB: Rachael, IN DEFENSE OF BUSH, why do you hate God?.

Rachel: Why...

IDB: And that's all the time we have right now. I'm Ned Needleman In Defense of Bush.
